Wedging & Throwing

The Slow Dry

Dipping the Glaze

The Final Fire

We start with dense, gritty stoneware clay, wedging by hand to remove air before centering it on the wheel for a heavy-bottomed, durable base.

Each mug and bowl dries slowly in the damp Portland air, allowing handles to fuse seamlessly before their first firing in the kiln.

We dip each piece in custom glazes that pool, drip, and settle into rich, organic patterns of terracotta, butter yellow, and sage.

Fired to 2200 degrees, the clay matures into rugged, dishwasher-safe stoneware built to withstand decades of daily family breakfasts.

Dripped Glazes

Imperfection by Design

Our glazes don't do uniform. We mix our colors to pool in the hollows and run down the ridges, creating entirely unique landscapes on every single mug.

When you hold a Clay Heart bowl, you are holding a singular moment in the kiln—a cozy utility that can never be exactly replicated.

Bring warmth home.
